Hey! How's it goin"?

Whoa! Lot's happening. Event this past Saturday at NWEC...schooling cross-country at home...traveling about a lot looking at horses to buy.

The good news...we are vetting a horse for Alex this week...great guy.

Also vetting a horse for.....me of all things! If he passes Adria and I will share him for the time being...we'll compete him...her more often than me as I have so much else going on. He really got to me the moment I saw him....so fingers crossed on the vetting. Still looking for more horses for eager clients. If you hear of anything let me know.

This Saturday it's the Combined Tests at Sherwood Forest...Bar-B-Que to follow...plenty of riders attending. Later that afternoon schooling down valley if you are interested. Inavale is closed due to the June event but I have several other courses available to me so we'll pick one and go. Sunday...more horse shopping and lessons. Three new students this week...all Eventers which is good as that's what I do!

Later,
Keith

Hey!

Real quick...Dede won her Training division at the Inavale Derby today...haven't heard from the others yet.

We had riders in the Sherwood Forest Combined Tests Saturday...Adria and Shilo did well placing 3rd. Adria will put up a link to YouTube in a day or so with their stadium round...this after only riding him twice.

Coming up...Aspen Farms next weekend.

Hi Everyone!

Great week. Lots of schooling. Peter and I are back to building cross-country fences tomorrow and will begin moving them out to the course soon.

Track season finished yesterday so it's riding and teaching full time now. This week is pretty usual and then we will be hauling out to school Inavale this weekend so contact me for details, times, hauling assignments, etc. Briarwood Pony Club Horse Trials Saturday at NWEC...I'll be up Friday for walks and we may or may not spend the night...don't know yet.

Tried out a wonderful horse for Alex yesterday in Corvallis...will be trying him again at Inavale this weekend...fingers crossed.

Got a call from Hill today (Monday) and she was at the Event at Kathryn Daniel's Farm on the McKenzie River in Eugene. Great turn-out she said, most had camped out over night on the shore. Hill and her partner took first. Corie was there as well. Hopefully they will both join us at the Inavale school next weekend.

On a another note... have two horses moving in that will be in full training so will be riding a lot again...can't wait. More info next week.

Think that's it for now. Have a great week!

Hi All,

Quick rundown of the past week....

Great turn-out for the stadium jump painting party. Lots of fresh, brightly colored fences.

Meagan Smallwood and her mare Takena finished with their dressage score at NWEC Saturday...double clears stadium and x-c. Congrats!

McKenzie was at the Brian Sabo Clinic this weekend. She'll be spending part of this summer at Karen O'Neil's in Bend.

New horse for Alex Hale? Hope so...fingers crossed.

Incredible weather...lots of lessons...trail rides...x-c schooling.

Peter and I got going on x-c jump building in the shop at the Forest...pix on Facebook. He is such a good, patient craftsman and the jumps are beautiful.

Let's see...this week....it's all up in the air right now...contact me. I do know that I am in Eugene all day Wednesday, back later that evening. There is talk of schooling NWEC or Inavale or maybe both.

To my surprise was told my pix was in the LO Review last week with two of my track runners at Hayward Field (U of O) for the Twilight Meet (thanks Barbara!) What's interesting about this is how many horse people I ran into while there attending (at a track meet no less!) and took on two new clients. Who would have thought? Last year at this meet I got to shake hands with presidential candidate Obama. Nice.

That's it for now.

Hi Everyone!

Where to start...busy past week. First off...a big thank-you to Adria for beginning the tackroom makeover...she put in a big day this past week getting it ready.

Calls are coming in from the road as riders leave the NWEC Horse Trials. What I know so far...McKenzie and Apache finished their first Prelim Event in the Open Division no less with a clear cross-country round...some rails in Stadium but all and all very successful for their first outing at this level. Congrats Knz! Megan completed her first horse trials with the family's new horse Lex at Beginning Novice. Dede and Gator finished 2nd in Training after an awesome dressage, x-c and stadium round. Just heard from Kathryn Daniels who finished 2nd in Open Novice! Haven't heard from the others but from what news I have heard that is trickling it sounds good.

Saturday morning began with the Lake Run for me...a good tempo run then into the car and off to Eugene. Just got home a while ago so that completes this weekend.

Random notes...Caroline has a jump painting party planned for the 16th at the Forest...it will be fun with lots of good eats! Materials are coming in for x-c jumps for our first horse trials in July. Schooling Inavale Tuesday...leave at 8:30am. Still looking for horses to purchase/lease. Bring in pictures for the tackroom walls. What else? Traveling to the Pony Club Horse Trials at Rainier next weekend...leaving next Friday noon. Course walks Friday afternoon and then we are planning on camping out with all of you so we all can do the potluck thing Friday night, compete Saturday then home that night and then the usual lessons Sunday.

By the way...we are looking to buy a prospect...nice Bay, TB gelding...4 to 7 years old for us to bring along, compete, etc. Let us know if you hear of anything. No Dream Horse ads...been there...done that...he ain't there but he may be standing in your neighbors field covered in mud...who knows? I have bought more than a few that way.

Hope all you moms had a great Mother's Day!

Hi There,

I'm writing here out of town on the fly without my day book so hopefully I'll remember everything. Will try to keep it short. Hopefully Adria will be able to get this up tonight.

First off...the Combined Tests went well with 35 riders attending with many more committing to next month. Nice comments all around. Peter was the chef of the day at the barbeque turning out kebobs and other good things to eat at no charge to competitors and all. The Tests finished at around 1:30 and an hour or so later the wind and monsoon set in...did it ever!!! It was terrific...I love big weather...it reminded me of the hurricane I went through on the east coast. No damage at the Forest but the grounds certainly got watered.

Monday is usual, Tuesday we are off yet again to school Inavale but home in time for afternoon lessons. Wednesday through Thursday usual but Friday course walks at Rainier. Saturday lessons at the Forest then off to Eugene for more. Sunday usual...I think! NWEC clients...call in through the weekend and let me know how you are doing.

A week from this weekend is the Pony Club Horse Trials at Rainier (NWEC) with many going. We will be staying the whole event and will be camping out and we want to do the dinner thing with all of you Friday night...can't wait! Let us know.

Looking for even more horses for clients...let me know if you have heard of anything. With the increasing number of horses coming in I am taking on a working student to help out...will post info at the tackroom.

That's it!
